Health Care

ATSWA is always keen for the community people to have access to all health care facilities. “Prevention is better than Cure” is our motto in organizing General health camps, eye camps, HIV and AIDS prevention camps, Assessment camps for corrective devises and surgeries of PwD and mobile clinics. It is organized periodically to ensure all preventable diseases are identified in the starting stage to help them have good health.

Eye camp

Eye camps are organized along with general health camps in association with Sankara Nethralaya since 1999 to identifying general sickness, assess cataract and all other eye problems they could be exposed to or contract to. If required recommendations for continuing correct medications and surgeries are made to minimize surgery and treatment cost. Around 593 people have improved vision after cataract surgeries, change of lenses, having new eyeglasses and checkups. 7326 people benefitted through eye care camps.

HIV/AIDS intervention and assistance

Health camps also helped us to identify new people infected/affected by HIV. They were counseled to take correct medications, ART medicines and treatments from government hospitals to have prolonged life. We ensure they have provisions, 3 meals a day, alternative livelihood trainings for regular income, safe shelter and help to cope up the various challenges faced by them by own family members, relative and community. Since 2005, every year 40 community boys and nearly 230 girls/boys helped to have prolonged life.
