Adolescent / Youth Development

Unemployment is on the rise for the last 3 years after the recession India is going through after the brutal invasion of COVID-19 virus since 2019. ATSWA play a vital role in providing employable skill trainings on Retail management, market demand based trainings, awareness on various issues faced by the youth. We provide free placement support to all those who come to us seeking a help. 3593 youths are trained / placed so far with 86.74 % of placement record. Youths are motivated to be part of their community development from now on. They are encouraged to be part of their village welfare committee or become government representatives to tap welfare schemes from various government departments have bestowed for them and be a catalyst in the community development.

Empowering adolescent girls

In partnership with Azim Premji Philanthropic Initiatives (APPI) ATSWA is continuing its impactful three-year program in Minjur block, Tamil Nadu, to empower approximately 600 adolescent girls (ages 12-18). This ongoing initiative provides safe spaces and peer support through two field centers in Lighthouse and Pazhaverkadu panchayats. It offers weekly sessions on gender rights, emotional well-being, and practical life skills, along with health screenings and connections to job training programs. The program also focuses on developing peer leaders and engaging the community through gender-sensitization workshops and capacity-building for local stakeholders.
