Elders Care Initiative
As urban migration, economic pressures, and changing family structures increase, many elderly individuals—particularly from marginalized and low-income backgrounds—are left without care, support, or shelter. ATSWA Trust recognizes this growing social challenge and has initiated targeted outreach to support destitute and abandoned elders living in vulnerable conditions.
Through community identification drives, ATSWA provides immediate assistance to elderly persons living on pavements and in unsafe environments. Support includes provision of breakfast, lunch, and dinner; clothing; mats, cots, bedsheets, and pillows; and access to medical and medicinal care. Where necessary, elders are assisted with admission into nearby registered Elder Care Homes to ensure continued safety and support.
ATSWA ELDERS CARE HOME – Upcoming Residential Initiative
Building on this outreach experience, ATSWA is preparing to establish its own residential facility, “ATSWA ELDERS CARE HOME,” designed to provide a safe, dignified, and eco-friendly living environment for senior citizens. The proposed home aims to combine compassionate care with structured health support, nutrition, recreation, and community engagement—ensuring elders experience belonging, respect, and emotional well-being.
The sustainability model envisions a mixed structure, enabling cross-subsidisation and long-term financial stability. The goal is to create a space where elders can live with dignity, comfort, and the fullness of life in a nurturing, home-like environment.
