The care for senior citizens has assumed importance ever since the emergence of nuclear families and the break up of the families and changes in the society. ATSWA cares for senior citizens in Sathyavedu area in chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh and in Pulicat in Thiruvallur District in Tamilnadu .It provides clothing bed sheets medicine food supplements or provisions according to their needs. Monthly eye care camps are held in sathyavedu area keeping them in mind. Currently 60 senior citizens in sathyavedu area and 46 in pulicar are cared for. Though the services are required for more, paucity of funds prevent the services from becoming a reality. A Day care for senior citizens has been started in Madanambedu where they will be provided nutritious lunch every day.
