Vocational Training for Disabled Youth, Normal Youth & Women, Retail Management Training, Beautician Training,  Tailoring Training & Computer Education

In its journey to help the disabled people ATSWA has gone forward in starting vocational training centres for people with disabilities in Redhills at Chennai, Dasukuppam and Madanambedu in Sathyavedu Mandal and Chittoor town in Chittoor district. Efforts have been taken in this direction to secure government funding so that more and more disabled people can be helped to become financially and socially independent. Tech Mahindra donated 15 computers for the Redhills centre to strengthen it and it is the first corporate company to help ATSWA Trust. It is in this direction the vocational training centres of ATSWA has been registered with Skill Council for People with Disabilities – SCPWD which functions under National Skill Development corporation a body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment of the Government of India. Of the ten organisations that have been registered with SCPWD in India, ATSWA Trust is the only organization from Tamilnadu to get listed in the website of SCPWD.

The four centres will have three courses i.e.

  1. Domestic Data Entry operator,
  2. Retail Sales Associate,
  3. Housekeeping room attendant.

Each course will have an intake capacity of 25 candidates and will go through the course designed by National Skill development Corporation- NSDC. The centres will admit young people with disabilities – orthopedic and hearing impaired clients to start with. The candidates will receive certificate from Skill Council for People with disabilities – SCPWD after an evaluation. The candidate will be provided placement after that. ATSWA Trust hopes to train and equip at least 3,000 young people with vocational skills for income generation in a year. It hopes to expand the services to with this accreditation ATSWA Trust hopes to train many disabled people in Vocational trainingin the time to come.
