Welcome!

Every year is a special year as new challenges arise to test the strength and tenacity of the organization. And as a year passes by joy and jubilation fills everyone as the organistion stands successful tested by time and challenges. Progress comes through perseverance, and pain does not wear out the stout hearted. This has been the case of ATSWA Trust year after year since its inception and so has been this year 2015 – 2016.

The decline in global funding toward the poor an21d needy has affected the charity, welfare and development work in the developing world. With the rise of India as a major economic power in many areas it has become difficult to find funding for projects as the world community perceives that India does not need outside help as the economy is booming.

What is not known to the world is that the wealth generated has not really reached the poor or the benefits have not reached the people in the lowest level. The wealth generated has remained only with the “haves” Globalization has only widened the gap between the rich and the poor and the scenario in India remains the same.

This has prompted ATSWA Trust to go in for self sufficiency drive and take necessary steps to strengthen the organization in raising funds and in building existing activities to free it from depending on overseas funding. At the same time it still reaches out to donors who understand the ground realities in India and help the poor. New area of thrust has been started in the field of disability and very specifically in the field of vocational training to people with disabilities. It is in this connection ATSWA Trust is on the process of utilizing the government of India Support and funding to start Vocational Skills Training Centres for the disabled and non- disabled. We believe that in the new financial year we hope to make it a reality to help the young disabled people. We are sure that this will help the many poor rural and non rural disabled people to become independent in the days to come.

Sincerely

Mrs. A. Nimme Jabakumari
