ATSWA was actively involved in helping the people affected by the incessant rains and flood in the month of November & December 2015 in extending relief and rehabilitation measures in the areas in Minjur block covering Pulicat and surrounding areas.
ATSWA took a survey and requested support with Habitat for Humanity international for repairing and rebuilding houses that have been damaged. The rebuilding programme is being undertaken currently (Jan 2017) and with the support of Habitat – Eicher foundation 15 new houses are constructed, 40 houses are repaired and 300 toilet cum bathrooms are built in a flood affected area in Thiruvotiyur in North Chennai. 10 new houses for damaged ones for people with disabilities in Pulicat.
